What We Did This Weekend

13 Dec

We didn’t do anything terribley exciting but we all had some good quality time.

Friday we went to dinner at Outback. Lila loved the cheese fries. Only kidding, of course I didn’t feed her those things. But, she did sit and watch her daddy and I have a bloomin onion and it was fantastic. Our waiter kept saying “Hey little buddy, he is so cute.” Did I mention he did this repeatedly? Josh even corrected him once saying “she” but he just kept calling her a little buddy. Listening skills, they are important people. His tip didn’t suffer the consequences, we were nicer than that.

On Saturday, Lila got to go to her buddy’s first birthday party. She had a blast. As the birthday girl would open each present Lila would test it out by chewing on it. I told her mom I hope she didn’t mind Lila had the first go at all her toys. The birthday girl didn’t mind, she was busy enjoying her birthday cake. Her whole head was pink, I hope Lila enjoys hers that much. We also watched Bridesmaids on Saturday night. 1.) It was hilarious, a must see…I love Kristen Wig. 2.) Redbox is where it’s at, we rented the movie for a $1.13!

On Sunday I was actually really productive and took advantage of Lila’s naptime by cleaning the house and organizing all of my craft/sewing supplies. I love to have a nice, clean house…too bad that only occurs once every blue moon. I don’t think I have mentioned it but Lila has become quite mobile. She is army crawling all over the house. I will sit her down and turn around and she is on the other side of the room. I can’t imagine how fast she will be when she actually gets up on her knees. I have videos so stay tuned πŸ™‚ We also went to Altruda’s last night with my family. I’m pretty sure Lila thinks all we do is eat. What can I say? It is one of my favorite pastimes.

Pinterest Project #2

6 Dec

It’s time to decorate for Christmas and their are some really cute DIY ideas on Pinterest. This is the one I just finished…

We usually do a pretty basic tree so I wasn’t worried about them not being fancy enough. I added my homemade ornaments to the same old ones we have had for years and I really like the way it turned out.

This was mid-process.

I couldn’t locate the hole punch when I first started and it made the process more tedious than it looked. Once I found the punch things went much faster. I was able to purchase all the paper for only $9.99 at Jo-anns. I probably wouldn’t have even been able to buy 2 new ornaments for that price and I still have a ton of paper left.

I really like the look it gives the tree. It probably could have been a lil better if I made a few more. I ended up only doing 20 and then got lazy.

It’s a good thing we have a small tree because their isn’t much spare room in our house. You can see Lila’s jumparoo and the tree are becoming quick pals.

There is nothing too special about our mantle decorations but I thought I would add it in since it is kind of festive.

Seattle Send-Off

5 Dec

Brian and Jamie Lynn are getting ready to leave for Seattle after the first Β of the year. Friday night my parents kept Lila and we got to go out to start our goodbyes. I am really excited for Brian and Jamie as they start their new adventure but I am also sad. Sometimes it easy to take for granted having your family nearby and getting to see them whenever you want. It just won’t be the same having them on the other side of the country. We are gonna have an awesome new city to go visit though!
